MGM Project Tignes

Tignes-Espace Killy

Tignes is considered by many to be one of the best ski resorts in the world. Due to its altitude there is always an abundance of snow and with the Grande Motte glacier it is even possible to ski in the summer. Tignes links with the fashionable Val d'Isere to form the Espace Killy named after the legendary downhill racer and is one of the most renowned ski areas in the Alps boasting over 300 kms of slopes and is where the French ski team chooses to train. The off-piste skiing is excellent and attracts some of the best extreme skiers and boarders in the world.
Tignes surprisingly enough has a very active summer season and centres around the Lake in the centre where sailing, fishing, diving and diving all take place. There is even an 18 hole golf course which enjys stunning views and is quite challenging. Other activities in the summer include hiking, paragliding and mountain biking. The area is on the edge of "Le Parc de la Vanoise", a protected National Park, which also makes Tignes an great base for trekking.

The resort is split into different villages, Val Claret and Le Lac and Tignes 1800 which are separated by a lake. Tignes val Claret and Le Lac were largely built in the 1960's & 1970's and is very much a purpose built resort.  Things have improved drastically over the past five years with several new constructions incorporating stone and wood facades and some of the old buildings getting a facelift.  Not only is the construction improving the lifts have been upgraded over the last few years speeding up the time taken for skiers and boarders to get up the mountain.

The Location– Tignes – Espace Killy

MGM will be building a new 4**** residence in Tignes Les Boisses at 1850m, right in the centre of the village, between the church and the new beginners area. This is an exceptional investment opportunity as the village of Tignes Les Boisses has and will undergo massive changes in the years to come. The first part of these changes has been the creation of a new road linking the dam to Tignes Le Lac and Tignes Val Claret, which avoids the centre of Tignes Les Boisses. The traffic that used to drive through this village has now virtually stopped. A green slope will very probably replace the former road in the winter and a large area for beginners will be created in the heart of the village.

The old 2 seater chairlift that takes skiers from Tignes Les Boisses to the Marais area on route to the Aiguille Percee will be replaced by a brand new chairlift which will offer a fast and comfortable ride to the peaks.
Tignes is part of the Espace Killy and is therefore one of the most renowned ski resorts in the Alps. It boasts a huge skiing area of over 300 kms of slopes and is where the French ski team chooses to train. As Tignes is one of Europe's highest resorts at 2100m, snow is almost guaranteed right down to the resort throughout the whole season. Thanks to the presence of the glacier, you can also ski all year round. The area is on the edge of "Le Parc de la Vanoise", a protected National Park, which also makes Tignes an interesting base for trekking.
It is very rare for a village to undergo changes on this scale and there will very probably be no other changes like that in that region in the future. It is a great investment opportunity in one of the best ski areas in the world.

Please let me know if this project could be of interest and i will send over full details.

I am also putting together some details on options in Avoriaz and Morzine for your perusal and will send when i get back from Wales! As i mentioned in my previous email, the first step is to run through your finances with the mortgage team so you understand what is achievable and realistic in terms of purchasing a leaseback property in the Alps.

I look forward to hearing from you

Kind regards,
